How do I scan a receipt or a screenshot?

Tap the camera in the capture bar. Scan opens on four sources: Photos, Camera, Files and Paste. Whichever you pick, Pockito reads the amount, the shop, the date and the account, turns every line of a receipt into an item, and shows you a card to check before anything is saved.

Where to find it Home Scan receipt

Four ways in

Photos
Your newest photos and screenshots first. Tap one and Pockito reads it, using the day the picture was taken.
Camera
Hold the phone over the receipt. It finds the edges and takes the photo when the paper is steady. You can tap the shutter any time.
Files
A photo or a PDF from Files, like an emailed invoice.
Paste
Copied a bank text? Paste it here and Pockito reads it like any other capture.

You can also share a picture or a PDF to Pockito from another app. Share several and Pockito reads them one by one, then lets you save all the ready ones at once.

Check the card, then save

  1. Pick a source. While it reads, card numbers are masked and nothing is saved yet.
  2. Look at the card. Each value says how sure Pockito is: Read, Remembered, Verified or Needs you.
  3. Tap any value to change it. On a receipt, open Items: each line keeps its own category.
  4. Answer what it asks, if anything, like which account or which card.
  5. Save. The bar shows what was saved, with Undo.

When the card says something else

Already in Pockito
Auto-track or an earlier scan already has this purchase. Attach the receipt to it instead, which doesn't use a scan.
The total is too blurry
Retake with the bottom of the receipt flat, or type the total on the keypad.
Nothing to log here
It wasn't a receipt or a payment. Nothing was saved and no scan was used.
Read on this phone
Read without internet. Checked again when you're online.
This period's scans are used
They refill when your next period starts. Typing it in is always free.

Where is the receipt photo kept?

On your phone, encrypted, and in your backup. Removing the photo keeps the entry and its items.
