How do I set up Pockito the first time?

On Home, the budget step offers two ways: a quick setup that takes about fifteen seconds, or the full money setup. The quick one asks what you earn, how much to save and what you spend on, then sets a limit for each category you picked and shows what you have to spend this month.

Set it up in detail
Opens Your money setup, where you set every part yourself: pay, cycle, savings and bills.

The quick setup, step by step

  1. Type what you earn on the keypad. The chips under it set how often you're paid, your pay day and when your budget cycle starts.
  2. Pick how much to save first. Drag to fine-tune, and Pockito shows what that leaves you to spend each month.
  3. Tap everything you spend on. The categories are grouped into essentials, lifestyle, and family and more.
  4. Tap Wrap it up. Pockito splits what's left across the categories you picked.
  5. Read your month at a glance: what you can spend, what you save and a buffer, about how much a day, and your category limits. Tap Start using Pockito.

Questions

What if my income changes every month?

In Your money setup, turn on It changes month to month. Pockito then budgets on your lowest month of the last three, so a quiet month never catches you out.

What is a budget cycle?

The stretch of days your budget covers. By default it starts on your pay day, but you can pick a different day, like the 25th, or reset every week.

Can I skip setup?

Yes. None of the setup blocks you: you can log money right away and come back to it from Home.
